About Us.

A couple of Devon born lads, Finton and Jay love this part of the world, with it's beautiful coast lines and fantastic local courses they really can't see themselves living anywhere else…

Jay used to spend most of his time tinkering around with cars and getting involved with the drift scene

Jay met Fint back in 2007, they worked next door to one another and lived on the same street. One morning Jay saw him running to work, so stopped to offer him a lift and they became best mates after.

“To be honest I probably should of kept driving!... 😂”

After many years of clubbing, gyming, gaming and playing around with cars Jay decided it was time to settle down and so the glory days were over, that was until out of the blue Fint asked Jay if he fancied a round of golf.

“At first I thought he was having a laugh, then the bag showed up!… funny enough I've been hooked ever since.”

Jay currently doesn't hold a handicap but is looking to get one in the near future.

Finton Atkinson

Finton spent most of his youth growing up in Cornwall, where as a kid, had his first encounter with golf at Bowood Golf Club. He took to it straight away but soon after decided to put his clubs down to pursue his success in badminton full time.

Being Devon born, with family roots, he had always felt the urge to return one day and did so back in 2006.

“Growing up in Cornwall had some great perks but I knew my heart was always in Devon.”

Since returning to Devon and golf, Rogue Golfers YouTube channel has become his main focus, meeting like minded golfers, visiting new places and of course, enjoying a round of golf wherever he can.

“I hope Rogue Golfers continues to grow and we help create a community of like minded people along the way.”

Currently he doesn't hold a club membership, he doesn't agree it should lock you into playing at one club and would rather play different courses to continuously challenge himself, he feels this freedom has significantly improved his game and helps avoid the boredom of playing a single course repetitively.

“There just isn't enough flexibility in the industry for memberships at the moment… although companies like Playmore Golf are slowly beginning to improve it, things need to change to bring golf into the 21st century.”
